Our History
Space Coast Vettes was founded in 1973 by our first President, Jerry Allen, who believed the Melbourne area was ready for a dynamic and enthusiastic Corvette club.
In those early years, members worked tirelessly to build the foundation of the club—hosting car washes and small community events to raise funds and keep the organization moving forward.
May 19, 1977
Space Coast Vettes officially filed for incorporation with the State of Florida, marking a major milestone in the club’s history and establishing a legacy that continues today.
Our Founding Purpose
Our club’s constitution captures the mission, passion, and spirit that continue to guide Space Coast Vettes:
“To provide its membership an opportunity to participate in organized competition and promote greater enjoyment of their Corvettes.”
“To promote and participate in community activities in order to develop a greater understanding and spirit of cooperation between the community and all automotive enthusiasts.”
Today, Space Coast Vettes continues to honor the vision of our founders by celebrating Corvette ownership, supporting our community, and welcoming automotive enthusiasts who share our passion.
